\n \nDescription: Campers step into the role of filmmaker\, animator\, desig ner\, and engineer. This hands-on camp blends stor ytelling and mechanics as students bring their ide as to life — one frame at a time.
\n \nCamp ers will:
\n \nDream up an original story and create a detailed storyboard
\nDesign characters\, props \, and sets
\nFilm and di rect their own stop-motion movie using iPads and s top motion filming apps.
\nExpl ore simple machines and motion
\nUse the laser cutter to design and cut cus tom gear shapes
\nBuild a moving automata sculpture powered by interlocking gears
\nFrom carefully capturing each tiny movement of a character to wa tching gears turn in a hand-built mechanical sculp ture\, campers discover how creativity and enginee ring work together. They’ll explore how motion is created both on screen and in real life — frame by frame and gear by gear.

\n \nScholarship Inf ormation: Gizmo reserves half of all camp spot s for scholarship recipients. Scholarships are bas ed on financial need and awarded on a first-come\, first-served basis. Gizmo uses a sliding scale sy stem for scholarships: you decide what your family can reasonably contribute toward your child's cam p experience\, and Gizmo covers the difference. Fa milies may apply for one scholarship per child\, per summer\, for the camp(s) of t heir choosing. To apply for a scholarship\, please complete the Summer 2026 Scholarship Application form\, which is accessible by clickin g here. Upon approval of your application\, yo u will be provided with instructions on how to reg ister your child for camp. Please do not attempt t o register prior to receiving a confirmation from Gizmo.
\n \nCancellation Policy: If your child is no longer able to attend camp\, you may cancel your registration up to 10 days prio r to the start of camp for a 90% refund. (Gizm o retains 10% to cover our administrative/transact ion costs.) Refunds will generally not be issued f or cancellations within 10 days of camp\, nor miss ed camp days.
\n \nCamp Policies & Proce dures: Prior to completing camp registration\, families should be familiar with the policies out lined in the Youth Programs: Information for Families and the Gizmo Student Code of Conduct.. In add ition\, each camper is required to have a waiver s igned by a parent/guardian prior to participating in camp activities. You can access the youth waiv er here.
