 n \n <p><b>Description: </b></p>\n \n <p>In this e
 xciting\, lab-based\, outdoor learning\, and chall
 enge-driven course\, students will investigate the
  science of our regional watershed—partnering with
  experts from the University of Idaho Water Extens
 ion and 4-H to bring real-world learning to life.<
 /p>\n \n <p>At the heart of our journey is the ama
 zing Rathdrum Prairie-Spokane Aquifer—one of our r
 egion’s most important natural resources. Where do
 es our water come from? How does it move undergrou
 nd? Why does it matter? And how can we help protec
 t it?</p>\n \n <p>Over 12 weeks (meeting once a we
 ek for 1.5 hours)\, students will:</p>\n \n <p>💧 E
 xplore <strong>geology</strong> by building models
  of aquifers and underground water flow<br />\n 🧪 
 Test <strong>water quality and chemistry</strong> 
 in hands-on labs<br />\n 🌱 Investigate <strong>eco
 logy and biology</strong> to see how water support
 s plants\, animals\, and people<br />\n 🌨️ Discove
 r <strong>soil and snow science</strong> and how s
 easons affect our water supply<br />\n 🛠️ Design a
 nd build creative solutions to real watershed chal
 lenges</p>\n \n <p>This isn’t just learning about 
 science—it’s <em>doing</em> science. Along the way
 \, participants can earn <strong>Tool & Skill Badg
 es</strong> in lab techniques\, environmental inve
 stigation\, engineering design\, teamwork\, and pr
 oblem-solving. Aligned with Idaho science and tech
 nology standards for grades 3-5\,  this course als
 o builds essential workforce and life skills—curio
 sity\, collaboration\, critical thinking\, and con
 fidence—through meaningful\, real-world exploratio
 n.</p>\n \n <p>By the end of this three-month adve
 nture\, students won’t just understand their water
 shed—they’ll see themselves as scientists\, engine
 ers\, and stewards of the water that sustains us a
 ll.</p>\n \n <p><i>Please wear close-toed shoes fo
 r all Gizmo classes. Students should dress for the
