Crea te with clay! In Fundamentals of Pottery\, students will dive into the timeless art of wheel throwing while learning the essential te chniques that potters use to shape clay into bowls \, cups\, and vessels.

\n \n

During this imm ersive expernece over six creative weeks\, student s will get their hands in the clay and learn how t o:

Alo ng the way\, students will build confidence with k ey pottery skills—preparing clay\, practicing cent ering\, and establishing their throwing technique. By the end of the class\, each student can expect to complete 4–5< /strong> finished ceramic pieces to keep and enjoy.

\n \n

All materials are included: studio clay\, glazes\, firing\, and weekl y instruction—just bring your curiosity a nd willingness to get a little muddy!

\n \n

This course is designed for students with little or no experience on the potter’s wheel\, making it a welcoming first step into the w orld of ceramics. Students may repeat Fund amentals I once before advancing to the < strong>Fundamentals II level.

\n \n

⚠️ Note: Wheel throwing is a physically active process that involves holding steady positi ons while shaping clay. Because of the strain on h ands\, wrists\, elbows\, and shoulders\, this clas s may not be suitable for individuals with chronic pain or injuries in those areas.
