Description: Create with clay! In Fundamentals of Pott ery\, students will dive into the fantast ic art of wheel throwing while learning the essent ial techniques that potters use to shape clay into bowls\, cups\, and vessels.

During th is immersive experience over eight creative weeks\ , students will get their hands in the clay and le arn how to:

Along the way\, students will build confid ence with key pottery skills—preparing clay\, prac ticing centering\, and establishing their throwing technique. By the end of the class\, each student can expect to complete 4 –5 finished ceramic pieces to keep and enjoy.

\n \n

All materials ar e included: studio clay\, glazes\, firing\ , and weekly instruction—just bring your curiosity and willingness to get a little muddy!\n \n

This course is designed for stu dents with little or no experience on the potter’s wheel\, making it a welcoming first step into the world of ceramics. Students may repeat < strong>Fundamentals I once before advanci ng to the Fundamentals II level.< /p>\n \n

⚠️ Note: Wheel throwing is a physically active process that involves holding st eady positions while shaping clay. Because of the strain on hands\, wrists\, elbows\, and shoulders\ , this class may not be suitable for individuals w ith chronic pain or injuries in those areas.
