Description: In this intermediate welding class, we will learn a process and techniques for fabricating a chain link fence gate. Over two sessions we will cover gate design and terminology, material requirements, hinge design, measuring for your opening, notching of pipe, proper welding of gate pipe and attachment of filler material. The class will work together to fabricate a single demo gate, building skills that can be replicated for a personal project.
For an optimal experience in this class, some prior experience with welding is recommended. Individuals with limited experience may build skills in advance of the class by attending our weekly $10 drop-in class on Fridays 3-5.
Participants should be able to work, standing, for 2.5 hours at a time. Non-synthetic clothing and shoes required; attire considerations will be included in your confirmation email.
