Description: Curious about laser cutters and how they turn digital designs into precise, real-world creations? This hands-on, beginner-friendly class is your gateway into the world of laser cutting and engraving. Over two weeks, you’ll learn how to take your ideas from concept to creation using powerful digital tools and a laser cutting machine.
A laser cutter uses a highly focused beam of light to cut or engrave a variety of materials such as wood, acrylic, leather, and more. It's a fast, accurate, and versatile tool that allows makers, artists, and entrepreneurs to produce everything from custom signs to jewelry, prototypes, home décor, and personalized gifts.
You'll learn how to make your own custom designs using vector software and then how to set up your design files for the laser cutter and operate the machine safely.
The project you'll make in this class is a puzzle key holder. This wall mounted key holder and decor piece has removable pieces that pop out and act a keychain on your keys!
All the details you need to be certified on the laser at Gizmo will be covered during the class and there will be an opportunity to certify at the end of class (Note: certification is not guaranteed and is up to the instructor's evaluation of your capability)
