Description:
Get ready to get your hands muddy in this 4-week clay adventure for ages 8+! In Pottery & Clay Arts—Hand Building Beautiful Vessels, students will dive into the timeless art of ceramics while putting a playful, creative spin on classic techniques.
Using coil-building methods, you’ll design and build bowls and vases where the coils become part of the art—twisting, stacking, and shaping them into eye-catching textures and forms. Along the way, you’ll explore how clay changes from soft and squishy to strong and permanent as your pieces are fired in the kiln.
In week 4, your creations will be ready for the final magic: glazing! Choose colors and finishes that make your vessels shine. After a final firing, your finished pottery will be ready for pickup the following week—fully fired, glazed, and made to last.
This class is all about creativity, craftsmanship, and the joy of making something truly one-of-a-kind. Come ready to build, experiment, and create clay masterpieces you’ll be proud to take home!
