Session Dates (5):
Monday - Friday
August 10th - 14th
Time: 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Description: Turn up the volume on creativity in this high-energy, hands-on maker camp where campers build their own electric guitar from the ground up! Throughout the week, students will transform a wooden guitar kit into a fully playable instrument—then plug in and jam together.
During this immersive experience, campers will:
--> Assemble a Real Electric Guitar – Learn how guitar bodies, necks, pickups, and hardware work together as they build and wire their instrument.
--> Master Woodshop Tools – Safely use hand tools and shop equipment to sand, shape, and refine their guitar body.
--> Design & Decorate – Customize their instrument with paint, stain, and laser-cut embellishments for a one-of-a-kind finish.
--> Tune & Play – Learn how to string and tune their guitar, understand the basics of sound and amplification, and jam together as a group to celebrate their creations.
Along the way, students will earn Tool & Skill Badges for woodworking, electronics basics, laser cutting, finishing techniques, tuning, and teamwork—plus special “Rockstar” character badges for perseverance, creativity, and collaboration
By the end of the week, campers won’t just leave with new skills—they’ll leave with a custom electric guitar they built themselves and the confidence to plug in and play.
No prior music or woodworking experience required—just curiosity, creativity, and a revved up attitude to rock!
