Description:
Get ready to get your hands muddy in this 4-week clay adventure for ages 8+! In Pottery & Clay Arts—Hand Building Beautiful Vessels, students will dive into the timeless art of ceramics while putting a playful, creative spin on classic techniques.
Using a variety of methods, you’ll design and build beautiful vessels from leaf printed dishes to origami folded bowls, and fun characters you create. Along the way, you’ll explore how clay changes from soft and squishy to strong and permanent as your pieces are fired in the kiln.
In week 4, your creations will be ready for the final magic: glazing! Choose colors and finishes that make your creations shine. After a final firing, your finished pottery will be ready for pickup the following week—fully fired, glazed, and made to last.
This class is all about creativity, craftsmanship, and the joy of making something truly one-of-a-kind. Come ready to build, experiment, and create clay masterpieces you’ll be proud to take home!
Note: This class recurrs every month with new challenges and skills to learn each session! There is something fun for both new and returning students to experience.
Aprons provided. Please come in clothes that can get dirty, and close- toed shoes are required at Gizmo.
