Description: In this workshop, you’ll jump into Minecraft for Education and other sites to explore amazing architecture from around the world—ancient temples, towering castles, and modern skyscrapers! Then, inspired by what you discover, you’ll design and build your own unique structures inside Minecraft and Tinkercad--the program we use for 3D printing designs. Along the way, you’ll learn what makes great buildings stand tall and look awesome, earn skills badges for 3D design and printing, while unleashing your creativity in a world that’s yours to shape. Get ready to dream big, build boldly, and have tons of fun!
This is the first class in a series designed to move students forward on a pathway to certification for using 3D printers at Gizmo independently at age 14+. Our badging system awards students for completing levels of learning from Begining Maker --> Skill Buidling Maker --> Certified Maker in each of our labs, shops and studios.
