Intro to PocketLab Professional Development Workshop

The second of our three-part virtual PD workshop series: Citizen Science & Pocket Labs. The first of our three-part virtual PD workshop series: Citizen Science & Pocket Labs. Workshops may be taken individually as stand-alone programs, or in succession for PD credit.

In this "mini PD," educators will learn to use the PocketLab learning system to augment student engagement in Citizen Science. Empower your students with data tools and processes that mirror the work of professional scientists, and learn how to operate Gizmo's own classroom set of sensors, available through our Lending Library program. Participants will also receive their own PocketLab Thermo comparative temperature probe to use in classroom activities.

The workshop will consist of (2) one-hour live sessions on Zoom, and an individual research and reflection assignment (approx. 3 hours) to be completed between the two meetings. Zoom sessions will be recorded; however live attendance at the Zoom meetings is required in order to receive a materials kit and to be eligible for PD credit (see below).

Workshop Meeting Dates:

Thursday, February 2 | 4:30-5:30PM PT

Thursday, February 9 | 4:30-5:30PM PT
