Description: LINK is a one-of-a-kind experience tailored for home school families visiting the makerspace. This three-hour program features side-by-side activities for children and their parents/caregivers, a group tour of the makerspace, and a collaborative making project the whole family can enjoy. Participants will also leave with resources to continue making at home.
This month we will be making mini motorized festival floats from found and recycled items! Floats are unique inventions that combine an engineering mindset and artistic flair. Challenge your maker mindset to think outside the box, and design a float guaranteed to catch the audience's eye!
All participating children MUST be accompanied by a parent or caregiver over the age of 18. We will have complementary programming for parents while children are working on their projects. When registering, please list the accompanying adult as the primary registrant.
Age: The activities offered during LINK are designed for children ages 6-13, but children outside this age range are still welcome in the space. If bringing in children younger than 6, please be advised that there are small parts, electronic and mechanical hazards and that you are responsible for supervising your child at all times.
Cost: $10.00 / family. If this cost is prohobitive, please email info@gizmo-cda.org to inquire about a waiver.
